Multi-ball Basketball |
|
|
This EFL game is really just a variation on the normal basketball game, but I find that this game is so much more exciting and generates one hundred percent student involvement. Time: 10-20 Minutes. Materials: Basket(s) and balls (the same amount of balls as there are students in each team. Set the teams up in lines. Teams of around five students works best. If the student at the front of the line says the correct vocabulary/structure then the teacher throws all of the balls to the student at the back of the line in quick succession. If the student at the back of the line (T1e), catches all five balls then each team member is given a ball to throw into the basket. Each student shoots at the basket from where they are standing. In the event of the student catching four balls, then only the back four members of the team (T1e, T1d, T1c, and T1b), shoot at the basket. In the event of the student catching three balls, then only the back three members of the team (T1e, T1d and T1c) and so on. Back T1e T2e T3e T1d T2d T3d T1c T2c T3c T1b T2b T3b T1a T2a T3a Front Place the basket close to the front of the line so that if the student at the back catches all of the balls then the student at the front will merely have to lean forward to drop the ball in the basket.
